Condition, Grading & Authenticity Disclosure
PRIME 151 COLLECTIBLES
CONDITION, GRADING AND AUTHENTICITY DISCLOSURE
Effective Date: August 11, 2026 Version: 1.0
Your Treasures, Our Mission.
This Disclosure is incorporated into and governed by our Terms of Service.
This document explains exactly what our condition descriptions mean, what they do not mean, and what you can hold us to. We publish it because most disputes in this hobby come from an unstated expectation, not from a bad actor.
SECTION 1 — OUR STANDARD
1.1 Every raw item is inspected before listing and again before packing.
1.2 Condition descriptions are our good faith professional opinion, formed with experience, under consistent lighting, at normal viewing distance.
1.3 A condition description is an opinion, not a guarantee, and not a grade from a third party grading service.
1.4 Where an item has a flaw material to its value, we disclose it in the listing and photograph it. If we missed something material, tell us under Section 4 of the Return, Refund, Cancellation and Dispute Policy and we will make it right.
SECTION 2 — PHOTOGRAPHY
2.1 Where a listing says "actual item pictured" or "photos are of the item you will receive," the photographs show the specific item you will get.
2.2 Where it does not say that, images are representative. Stock photography, manufacturer renders, publisher artwork, prototypes, and preview images may differ from the retail product.
2.3 For multiple quantity listings of the same item, images are representative of the run, and you will receive an item of equivalent stated condition, not necessarily the one pictured.
2.4 Screens vary. Color, gloss, and foil rendering differ between displays and cannot be guaranteed to match.
SECTION 3 — RAW COMIC BOOKS
3.1 We describe raw comics using standard hobby language. Our approximate correspondence to the ten point scale:
| Our term | Approximate scale | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Near Mint | 9.2 to 9.6 | Sharp corners, tight spine, clean cover, minimal handling |
| Very Fine | 7.5 to 9.0 | Light wear, minor spine stress, minor corner blunting |
| Fine | 5.5 to 7.0 | Moderate wear, visible spine ticks, some creasing |
| Very Good | 3.5 to 5.0 | Significant wear, creases, possible small tears |
| Good or lower | 3.0 and below | Reading copy, heavy wear, may have larger defects |
3.2 Newsstand and direct market copies, print variants, and later printings are identified where known.
3.3 Normal and not a defect: minor spine ticks, light corner blunting, shelf and rack wear, printing registration variance, minor color break on a fold, publisher trimming variance, bindery variance, and subscription creases on newsstand copies.
3.4 Always disclosed: tears, missing pieces, water or moisture damage, tape, restoration, trimming, married pages, writing, stamps, coupon or page cuts, and detached or split covers.
3.5 New release comics arrive from the distributor and are handled as little as possible, but a new comic is not a guaranteed 9.8 candidate. Distributor and printer handling occurs before the book reaches us.
SECTION 4 — RAW TRADING CARDS AND SPORTS CARDS
4.1 We describe raw cards as Near Mint or better, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played, or Damaged, consistent with common hobby usage.
4.2 Normal and not a defect: factory centering variance, print lines, print dots, minor edge whitening on dark bordered cards, foil curl and pringling, surface texture on textured foils, and minor cut variance. These are manufacturing characteristics, not damage.
4.3 Always disclosed: creases, bends, scratches, dings, corner wear beyond the stated grade, water damage, and any alteration.
4.4 Cards pulled from sealed product are sold as pulled and are not inspected for grading candidacy unless the listing says so.
4.5 Marketplace condition standards. We list singles on marketplaces including eBay, TCGplayer, CardTrader, and Mana Pool. Where we list on one of those platforms, we grade to that platform's published condition standard, and that standard governs the listing and any claim made through it. Our terminology is deliberately aligned with the common Near Mint / Lightly Played / Moderately Played / Heavily Played / Damaged scale so that a card is described the same way wherever you find it.
4.6 Foreign language and import cards. Language, set symbol, and regional printing are stated in the listing. Print quality, cut, and centering tolerances vary by print region and are not defects.
SECTION 5 — GRADED AND ENCAPSULATED ITEMS
5.1 The grade on a slab is assigned by the third party grading service, not by us. We report it accurately and we do not alter it.
5.2 We do not warrant or guarantee a grading company's opinion, its consistency, its label accuracy, or its market acceptance.
5.3 Slab condition. Slabs acquire scratches and scuffs in normal handling and shipping. Minor slab scuffing is not a defect of the item and is not a basis for a claim. Cracked slabs in transit are handled as shipping damage under Section 4 of the Return, Refund, Cancellation and Dispute Policy.
5.4 Cracking a slab, resubmitting, or reholdering voids any claim relating to that item.
5.5 Population reports, labels, and designations such as qualifiers, subgrades, and special labels change over time and are outside our control.
SECTION 6 — GRADING SUBMISSION OUTCOMES
6.1 We make no representation about how any item will grade. If a listing describes an item as a "grading candidate," a "possible 9.8," or similar, that is an opinion, explicitly not a prediction, and never a guarantee.
6.2 A grade lower than you hoped for is not a defect and not a basis for a return, refund, or claim, before or after purchase.
6.3 We are not responsible for grading service turnaround times, fees, damage in the grading company's custody, mechanical errors, or a grading company's business decisions.
SECTION 7 — SEALED PRODUCT
7.1 Sealed product is sold factory sealed and unopened. We do not open, weigh, search, or verify contents.
7.2 We make no representation about the contents, pull rates, hit rates, print run, or market value of sealed product. What comes out is random. See Section 16.5 of the Terms of Service.
7.3 Normal and not a defect: shelf wear, corner dings, minor crushing, scuffing, sticker residue, price sticker marks, minor tears in outer shrink wrap that do not compromise the box seal, and shrink wrap looseness or shifting. Sealed product is a shipping and retail container, and manufacturers do not treat it as a collectible surface.
7.4 Where a box is being sold as a sealed collectible rather than for opening, we say so and grade the box condition explicitly in the listing.
7.5 Resealed and tampered product. We source through licensed distributors and vetted channels and we inspect seals on intake. If you have any concern about a seal, photograph it before opening and contact us immediately. We cannot evaluate a claim on product that has been opened.
7.6 Opened sealed product is never returnable.
SECTION 8 — TOYS, STATUES AND PRESTIGE COLLECTIBLES
8.1 Manufacturer packaging is a shipping and retail container, not part of the collectible, unless a listing states the item is sold as a mint in box collectible and grades the box.
8.2 Normal and not a defect: shelf wear, corner dings, creases, sun fading on packaging, minor paint variance, seam lines, joint tightness variance, minor factory glue or paint spots, and slight assembly variance. These are characteristics of mass production.
8.3 Statues and resin pieces have hand applied paint. Every piece varies from the promotional images, which are typically photographs of a hand finished prototype.
8.4 Manufacturers may change sculpt, paint, packaging, materials, or release date at any time after preview images are published.
SECTION 9 — AUTHENTICITY
9.1 Everything we sell is authentic. We source through licensed distributors, authorized channels, recognized authentication services, certified signing events, and documented private consignment.
9.2 We do not knowingly sell counterfeit, reproduction, proxy, trimmed, restored, or altered product without conspicuous disclosure. Reproductions and facsimiles, where offered, are labeled as such.
9.3 Autographed items follow Section 18 of the Terms of Service. Natural variation in a signature is not a defect. We do not create, autopen, or alter signatures.
9.4 If you have a good faith reason to believe an item we sold is not authentic, contact support@prime151.com within 7 calendar days of delivery with photographs and the basis for your concern. We investigate every one of these seriously.
9.5 A third party opinion obtained after delivery, including a failed authentication or a "not genuine" grading outcome, is not automatically conclusive, and does not extend the claim window in Section 9.4. We will review the evidence and act reasonably.
SECTION 10 — VALUE, PRICING AND INVESTMENT
10.1 Collectibles are not an investment product. We do not provide investment, financial, or appraisal advice.
10.2 Prices reflect our cost, condition, scarcity, and current market observation at the time of listing. Market prices change constantly.
10.3 We make no representation or warranty about future value, appreciation, resale price, or liquidity of anything we sell. A decline in market value is not a defect and is not a basis for a claim.
10.4 Any market reference, comparable sale, price guide figure, or population figure we mention is provided for context only, is sourced from third parties, and is not verified by us.
SECTION 11 — WHEN WE GET IT WRONG
We list thousands of items. Occasionally we will miss a flaw, mistype a grade, or describe something poorly. When that happens, it is our error and we fix it, at our expense, under Section 3.3 of the Return, Refund, Cancellation and Dispute Policy. Email support@prime151.com with your order number and photographs within 7 calendar days of delivery.
SECTION 12 — CONTACT
Condition questions before you buy: support@prime151.com. Ask. We would much rather send you three more photographs than process a claim.
Honest about flaws, delays, and condition. That is the whole standard.
